Introduction: Magnesium is the second most abundant intracellular cation, and its low level causes several side effects related to hypoparathyroidism, hypocalcaemia, and vitamin D deficiency. Furthermore, some of the cases of hypomagnesemia are linked to platinum-based chemotherapy, resulting in neurotoxicity and nephrotoxicity.
